Phạm Luận (b. 1954, Hanoi) graduated from Hanoi Pedagogical University. He is a famous painter with an impressionist style of landscape paintings. Throughout his artistic career, light has always played a key role in his works – his solo show in 2014 is entitled ‘Sunny’. His theme is mostly familiar street corners of Hanoi. Beginning to draw Hanoi's streets in 1983, Pham Luan is a witness of history by paintings, memories and the sentimental of the old city. He has participated in many exhibitions both in Vietnam and in foreign countries. He has participated in various domestic and international exhibitions. His works are displayed in museums, and some belong to important personal collections.
